Still waiting…
Thew new year starts with us still waiting for permits. There was some back and forth and issues with house and drain field placement along with confusion over driveway grade.
I figured I’d share a rough cost breakdown of what I’ve spent so far:
- $127,000 for the land
- $6,000 for builder(project management phase)
- $11,000 for well pump
- $12,000 for well install
- $6,000 for septic design and permits
- $11,000 for building permits
- $500 for energy credit worksheet
- $4,000 for civil engineer & site plans
- $19,000 for well road
- $5,000 for line extension by utility company
For a grand total of $201,500. This does not include any other materials I purchased, including the tractor.
Well pump installation
After a communication breakdown, the well pump was installed in Feb. We oversized the pump not knowing if we’d need a full house sprinkler system – it performed at 55 GPM.
Clearing Underbrush While Waiting…
There was/is still plenty of underbrush outside of the construction/wetland buffer areas that we wanted to tackle. It was an eyesore and posed fire hazards.
Building Permits!
Building permits were finally approved at 10:06 PDT on 05/09/2024.
More Land Prep
At this point we are waiting for final delivery of permits and a slot to open for actual work to begin. There’s still stuff for us to do..
